New Calcutta Factory Connection Already Top-Selling Store
CALCUTTA, Ohio — At a grand opening Saturday morning for Factory Connection in Summit Square Plaza, a company official said the new location has already proven to be the company’s top seller in less than two months of operation.
The Southern Columbiana County Regional Chamber of Commerce held the ribbon cutting with store personnel, several chamber board of directors members and St. Clair Township officials in attendance.
The store, which offers a wide selection of brand name clothing and houseware items, actually opened at the end of August. Jessica Nolan, a store manager for the company, said Factory Connection is “more of a southern state company, and this is the farthest north we’ve come.
“So far, it’s been our best store with record sales from the first day,” she noted
The store currently employs five. During the event, chamber President Marcus Trelaine spoke on behalf of the organization.
“With 40 years in retail business and some 300 locations in 17 states, we all recognize and appreciate the decision by Factory Connection to select Calcutta as a community worth investing to expand and develop their business model,” Trelaine said.
Factory Connection is a family-owned, Nolan said. It was founded by the late Terry Scott and Kenny Littleton in 1976 as a 1,000-square-foot store in Guntersville, Ala.
The store is located at 16280 Dresden Ave. in the former Rue 21 space.
