New Meijer Store at Eastwood Mall Complex to Open in May
HOWLAND TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Meijer Stores Ltd. will open its second Mahoning Valley store on May 16.
The store, in the Howland Commons section of the Eastwood Mall Complex, is one of two Ohio locations that will open that day, the other being Wooster, Meijer said in a Tuesday morning news release. Meijer Express gas stations adjacent to the new locations will open April 20.
The supercenter will offer grocery staples, fresh produce, bakery, meat, and deli, as well as a floral area and garden center. Other departments will include pharmacy, pets, electronics, toys, sports and apparel.
“We’ve been so grateful for the warm welcome from area residents so far, and we look forward to providing them another option close to home for groceries and other everyday needs,” Todd Anderson, vice president of Meijer’s Ohio Region, said in the news release. “We know that value and convenience are key for our customers, and we look forward to being able to provide both here in Warren and Wooster.”
Joe Bell, director of corporate communications for the Cafaro Co., which owns the Eastwood complex, said he learned about the planned opening about the same time as the news release went out.
“It’s exciting. It’s going to be a big deal when they do open their doors to the public,” he said. “Right now, they are in the midst of training the store personnel.”
