New Music Guild Concerts Open with Accordionists
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The New Music Guild will open its 2019-20 season with two free concerts by accordionists Mary Tokarski and Joseph Natoli.
The internationally known duo will perform on Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Holy Apostles Parish, 421 Covington St., North Side; and on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at Jefferson Congregational Church, 41 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Both concerts will include Christmas music.
Tokarski currently serves as festival chairwoman for the American Accordionists’ Association. She has appeared as a soloist with symphony orchestras nationwide and has released seven albums. She teaches piano and accordion at her home studio, and travels extensively to present workshops and master classes, and to adjudicate competitions.
Natoli is the organizer of the International Digital Electronic Accordion Symposium and has released two albums. He will perform some of his own compositions as well as duets with Tokarski.
Violinist Gwyneth Rollin and pianist Robert Rollin, coordinators of the New Music Guild, will open the concerts with several of Rollin’s original compositions.
Receptions will take place for the artists after both performances.
