New Starbucks Will Feature Deep Drive-Thru

BOARDMAN, Ohio — A key feature of the area’s newest Starbucks coffee shop will allow more commuters to conveniently collect their cup.

Starbucks is opening a café at 7680 Market St. that will include a 25-vehicle stacking drive-thru lane. Typically, drive-thru stacking lanes max out at nine or 10, according to Bill Kutlick, an agent with Platz Realty Group.

As more customers have opted for drive-thru over walking into fast food restaurants, “That creates a little bit of a congestion,” Kutlick says. With the 25-vehicle stacking lane, customers can safely line up without stacking out into the road. The café will also have an on-site parking lot.

That’s good news considering the location, which Kutlick says is a “good growth area” with auto dealerships, Southwoods Express Care, and competitors like Dunkin Donuts and Panera Bread close by. That portion of Market Street sees more than 25,000 motorists daily, “and it keeps growing,” he says.

Construction on the new Starbucks will begin as soon as weather permits, says Kutlick, who facilitated the sale. The national coffee chain will lease the 2,200-square-foot building being built on the former campus of Hill Barth & King LLC.

The south two-story building on the campus will be demolished to make way for the new building. The build should take four to five months once it begins, Kutlick says.

The north building on the property, some 5,000 square feet, is currently leased to Bon Secours Mercy Health and houses the Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley.
