Upcoming Vehicle Marks Milestone For Chevy EV Lineup

DETROIT – General Motors announced the addition of a new electric vehicle on its portfolio.

The 2024 Blazer EV, which is set to go on sale in the summer of 2023, will come with a range of model options including a 1LT, 2LT and RS model, as well as Chevy’s first-ever electric Super Sport (SS) performance model.

“The Blazer EV SS has the soul of a true sports car,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet. “And while it represents the pinnacle of performance for Chevy’s EV lineup, all models offer stirring capabilities that will surprise and delight true performance devotees.”

GM says the Blazer EV SS will offer the “most powerful experience in the line-up,” with an AWD propulsion configuration designed to produce up to 557 horsepower and up to 648 lbs.-foot of torque. Additionally, GM estimates the Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode will allow “0-60 mph times of approximately less than 4 seconds” at max power.

A Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) model of the 2024 Blazer EV will also be released for police fleet applications, says GM. The company says this will have the largest Ultium Battery in the lineup

Bell says the 2024 Blazer EV options and technologies set a “new tone for electric SUV’s.”

“Along with the all-new Silverado EV and Equinox EV coming next year, we are making great strides in offering more choices for zero tailpipe-emissions vehicles — choices that make switching to an EV easier than ever,” he says.

The 2024 Blazer EV will follow the Ultium Platform and offer an estimated range of 320 miles on a full charge depending on the trim, GM says. Different charging options will be available.

Each Blazer EV will come with a 17.7-inch-diagonal customizable infotainment touchscreen and available Super Cruise. RS and SS models will include full LED exterior lighting with choreographed walk-up/walk-away animation.

Each model will have a starting price between about $44,995 and $65,995, says GM. Additional details will be available closer to the production date.
