New Vehicle Sales Fall Flat in July; Used Sales Tumble
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks to customers in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties were flat in July compared with year-ago numbers, according to the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.
Last month, dealerships sold 2,008 new vehicles to local customers, a 0.8% increase from the same period the previous year, data show.
Toyota of Boardman reported the highest volume of new vehicle sales with 131, according to the dealers’ report. Ken Ganley Kia of Boardman reported 130 new vehicle transactions; Boardman Subaru sold 102 new cars and trucks; #1 Cochran Buick GMC sold 101 new vehicles, while its sister dealership, #1 Cochran Chevrolet, reported 96 new vehicle sales, data show.
Sales of used cars and trucks tumbled 18% during the month compared with year-ago volumes, data show. According to records, tri-county residents purchased 1,930 used vehicles in July, compared with 2,363 bought in July 2022.
Combined sales of new and used vehicles to residents in the three counties were down 9% compared with last year, data show.
