New Vehicle Sales in Mahoning Valley Rise in June

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks in the Mahoning Valley increased in June compared with the same period a year ago, according to data from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.

Dealerships in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties sold a total of 2,413 new vehicles last month, compared with 1,762 in June 2022, an increase of 36%, the report says.

Through the first six months of 2023, buyers have purchased 13,071 new vehicles off dealers’ lots in the three counties, compared with 10,875 during the same period a year ago – a 20% increase, data show.

Used vehicle sales were down slightly in June compared with year-ago numbers, according to the report. Last month, dealers sold 2,112 used cars and trucks, compared with 2,157 in June 2022, a decline of 2%.

Combined sales of new and used vehicles hit 4,590 units in June, compared with 3,989 in June 2022, a nearly 15% increase, the report shows.

Boardman Subaru sold the most new vehicles in June with 133, according to the report. #1 Cochran Chevrolet (formerly Sweeney Chevrolet), reported the second highest volume sales of new vehicles with 119.

Ken Ganley Kia of Boardman sold the third highest number of new vehicles in June with 117, while Fred Martin Ford registered 116 sales of new cars and trucks, the report says.
