New Vehicle Sales in Region Revved Up in July

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks in the region improved in July compared with the same period a year ago, according to the most recent data from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.

Last month, residents living in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties purchased 2,552 new vehicles, the report shows, compared with 2,008 bought during the same period in 2023 – an increase of 27%

Boardman Subaru recorded the most titles with 136, followed by Fred Martin Ford in Austintown with 128 sales. Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown reported it sold 121 new cars and trucks during the month; Ken Ganley Kia in Boardman reported 112 sales; and Cochran Chevrolet said it sold 111.

Sales of used vehicles also improved;, the dealer report shows. In July, residents in the tri-county area purchased 2,117 used cars and trucks, compared with 1,930 in July last year, a 9.6% improvement.

New vehicle sales increased month-over-month in July by 22%, data show. Used vehicle sales also rebounded, posting an increase of 17.6% compared with June sales, the report shows.
