New Vehicle Sales in the Valley Climb in March
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks to residents of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties increased nearly 6% in March compared with a year ago, according to the latest report from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.
Dealers say they sold a total of 2,362 new vehicles in March, compared with 2,229 new units sold during the same month in 2023, an increase of 5.9%.
#1 Cochran Buick GMC reported the most new sales last month with 153, while Boardman Subaru posted the second-highest volume sales at 147. Ken Ganley Kia, Boardman, registered the third-highest sales of new vehicles with 122; The Honda Store/#1 Cochran Honda reported it sold 120 new vehicles; #1 Cochran Chevrolet said it sold 166 units during the month.
Sales of used vehicles were also stronger in March compared with year-ago numbers, the report shows. Dealers reported they sold 2,243 used cars and trucks during the month, compared with 2,118 during March 2023, an increase of 5.9%.
Combined sales of new and used vehicles stood at 4,668 units for the month, the dealers’ report shows. This compares with 4,418 sold a year ago, an increase of 5.6%.
