New Vehicle Sales in the Valley Increase from Last Year
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks to residents of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties shifted into high gear last month compared with the same period in 2023, according to the latest dealers report.
The Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association’s report for April shows that consumers from the three-county area purchased 2,178 new vehicles during the month, compared with 1,871 purchased in April 2023, an increase of 16.4%.
Volume sales were down from the previous month, when dealers reported sales of 2,362 new cars and trucks, a decrease of 7.7%, according to data.
Boardman Subaru reported the most new vehicle sales for the month with 158. Ken Ganley Kia reported the second-highest volume sales with 98; #1 Cochran Chevrolet and #1 Cochran each reported sales of 96 new vehicles, while Cochran Buick GMC said it sold 95 new cars and trucks during April.
Sales of used vehicles also outdistanced year-ago sales, the report said.
Dealers sold 2,093 used cars and trucks to Valley residents in April, compared with 1,654 sold in April 2023, an increase of 26.5%, data show.
Used car sales in April slipped month-to-month by 6.6%, the report shows.
Combined sales of new and used vehicles stood at 4,358 for the month, a 23% increase compared with last year, according to April’s dealer report.
