New Vehicle Sales to Valley Customers Improve

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks to residents of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties improved in August compared with the same period in 2023, according to the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.

The organization’s monthly report shows residents across the three counties purchased 2,459 new vehicles last month, compared with 2,319 in August 2023, a gain of 6%.

Boardman Subaru sold the highest volume of new vehicles last month at 189 new units, according to data. #1 Cochran Chevrolet in Boardman sold the second-highest number of new cars and trucks with 137; Fred Martin Ford, Austintown, posted sales of 110 new vehicles; Ken Ganley Kia of Boardman reported 103 new sales; and Greenwood Chevrolet, Austintown, said it sold 99 new units during the month.

New vehicle sales in the region declined 3.6% in August compared with July, data show. In July, buyers purchased 2,552 new cars and trucks.

Year-over-year sales of used vehicles also declined in August. Last month, consumers in the region purchased 2,024 used cars and trucks, compared with 2,225 vehicles during the same period in 2023, a drop of 7.5%.
