New Venture Planned at Former Georgetown Site in Boardman
BOARDMAN, Ohio – Two veteran Mahoning Valley restaurateurs are teaming up to open a new business on the site of a former banquet hall that will offer dining and entertainment.
Israel Zambrano, owner of Los Gallos restaurant and El Cowboy in Austintown, and Jimmy Paxos, co-owner of the Mocha House chain, are partnering to open a new establishment that will be called The Room in the space formerly occupied by The Georgetown banquet center, 5945 South Ave. It will open in the fall.
The two made the announcement in a Facebook post this week. They emphasized that the new spot will not be a Mexican restaurant nor a Mocha House. They described the concept as new for the area.
The menu has not been finalized, but it will be “a combination of the best tasting entrees in the area,” according to the post. Live entertainment featuring local, regional and national acts will be part of the offerings.
The Georgetown closed in 2020 after 45 years.
