Newly Renovated Paige’s Deli Aims for a Clubhouse Atmosphere
BOARDMAN, Ohio – Paige’s Deli is making the most of its space.
The deli at 8061 S. Market St. is known for its cheeseburgers and waffle fries, and it also offers breakfast sandwiches, chicken wraps, ice cream and milkshakes.
Soon it will become an even more welcoming spot.
Paige’s recently completed a renovation that will help transform its spacious deli section into a community hangout.
Booths line one wall for dine-in customers. In the next week or so, a pool table and arcade games will be added to the room, and the Boardman High School logo will be painted on the wall.
“We’re trying to make it like a Spartans clubhouse for Boardman High School and middle school sports teams,” said Bill Ambuter. He co-owns the business along with his wife, Paige, for whom the deli is named.
“[Students] can come in and hang out and play video games and pinball,” he said.
The Ambuters, who have been in the building for two years, recently replaced the flooring and lighting and painted the walls.
Located just north of St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, the building formerly housed a furniture store.
The front part of its building houses the Ambuters’ other businesses: a U-Haul truck rental outlet and moving supplies store and a convenience store.
The deli and arcade are in the rear half of the building.
The Ambuters have a fourth venture headquartered at the building. Their Paige’s Deli food trailer, which has become a regular sight at local breweries and at events, is parked in front.
Paige’s Deli and U-Haul is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
