Next Round Open for Industry Sector Partnership Grants

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Lt. Gov. Jon Husted announced Friday that the fourth round of the Industry Sector Partnership grant program is now open.

For this round, $5 million is available, funded through Ohio’s Fiscal Year 2024-2025 operating budget.

The program funds partnerships that help prepare Ohioans for the workforce while meeting the needs of job creators and local economies.

“Our existing Industry Sector Partnerships are effectively uniting educators and businesses, strengthening the workforce in communities throughout Ohio,” Husted said. “The recently approved state operating budget has enabled us to broaden the reach of these partnerships to additional communities within Ohio. This expansion will result in an expanded list of opportunities for Ohioans to concentrate on preparing for the growing number of high-paying jobs that lie ahead.”

Industry Sector Partnerships are designed to develop workforce strategies specific to a region or industry sector to drive collaboration between local businesses, education and training providers and community stakeholders. ISPs create and implement workforce strategies that enhance economic growth throughout the state.

“Industry Sector Partnerships put employers in the driver’s seat, ensuring the system is truly demand-driven and resulting in better outcomes for individuals,” said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development. “By continuing to advance adaptable workforce solutions, we’re further positioning Ohio as a leader in productivity and a great place to grow your business.”

The third round of the program awarded 13 partnerships for a total of $2.45 million. Since the start of the program, $7.5 million has been awarded to 27 unique partnerships that have supported industries such as manufacturing, information technology, health care and construction.

The application period for the fourth round closes at 3 p.m. Sept. 29. For more information and to apply, click HERE.
