Nick’s Grows From 1 Bay to 9 Businesses
NEW CASTLE, Pa. – What’s today an auto empire in New Castle came from humble beginnings. In 1957, Nicholas Caldararo rented a service bay in a New Castle service station and founded Nick’s Auto Body.
Thirty years later, his son, Steven Caldararo, got involved and bought the company when his father retired in 1996. Expansion soon followed.
Today, Caldararo owns Nick’s Auto Body – much larger but still in New Castle – Nick’s South Side Automotive, Superior Sign and Graphics, New Castle Truck and Trailer, Castle Towing & Recovery, Castle Answering Service dispatch, Castle Auto Glass and Castle Roll-Offs dumpster service.
For his efforts over the past two decades, Caldararo was named the New Castle Rotary’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012.
