Niles Contracts Chamber for Development Services
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The city of Niles and the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber have entered into a contract for the economic development agency to provide services to the city.
Under the terms of the one-year contract, announced Monday, the chamber will provide services including identifying which properties to market, develop a familiarization tour of the city and more. The chamber will be paid $30,000.
“Now that we have shored up our finances for the short term, we need to develop long-term economic growth,” said Mayor Thomas Scarnecchia in a statement. “The Regional Chamber has the expertise to help us be in the best position possible to capitalize on future economic opportunities.”
Added Sarah Boyarko, the chamber’s vice president of economic development and head of the leadership team for the contract, “Together we’ve identified a list of several economic development services needed by the city and we look forward to working with the administration in an effort to increase their development opportunities.”
