Niles Students Help City with Comprehensive Plan

NILES, Ohio – Niles McKinley High School students found out how difficult it is to make everyone in their community happy.

MS Consultants Inc., which was contracted by the city of Niles to make a comprehensive plan, gathered approximately 25 students in grades nine through 12 to take on the role of an urban planner.

“It’s pretty cool to see our youth engaging in the planning process,” says Niles Mayor Steve Mientkiewicz. “I give them a lot of credit for their ideas, their innovation and the input that is going to actually be incorporated into the comprehensive plan.”
