Nominations Open for 25 Under 35 Awards
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Nominations are now being accepted for the 25 Under 35 Awards sponsored by the Mahoning Valley Young Professionals and the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.
The awards will honor the Mahoning Valley’s best and brightest young professionals at a ceremony set for 6:00 p.m. Feb. 8 at Stambaugh Auditorium.
“This collaborative event has highlighted some of the most impressive young people from our community over the years,” said Shari Harrell, president of the Community Foundation. “And the event culminates in support of the Young Philanthropist Fund, which serves to involve our future leaders in the important work of philanthropy.”
Three honorees will be distinguished as MVP Award winners. All honorees, including the top three, are selected based upon professional and community service categories by a committee of judges formed by MVYP and Community Foundation.
Nominees must be between the ages of 21 and 35 and may not exceed 35 years of age as of Aug. 31. They must live and/or work primarily in Columbiana, Mahoning or Trumbull County.

The Business Journal will publish biographical sketches of the honorees in its January 2017 edition.
The event serves as MVYP’s primary fundraising effort aimed at building the Young Philanthropist Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation. The fund was created in 2005 and introduces young adults to philanthropy through fundraising, review of grant requests, site visits to non-profits and recommendation of grants from the fund.
