Nominations Sought for March of Dimes Leadership Awards
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The March of Dimes of Northeast Ohio is accepting nominations for the Franklin D. Roosevelt Community Leadership Award. The award is designed to honor community leaders whose commitment to “giving every baby a fighting chance” is unsurpassed and demonstrated through a spirit of caring in the community.
Award nominees should be community leaders whose ability to motivate and inspire others while demonstrating the ability to take charge and champion for the health of children. After a nomination form has been received, March of Dimes’ independent Maternal Children’s Health Committee will select a recipient.
The FDR Community Leadership Award Recipient will be honored at the Mahoning Valley Signature Chefs Auction at Stambaugh Auditorium Oct. 24. Last year’s award recipients are Mark and Jennifer Gasser of Hubbard, Ohio.
The Signature Chefs Auction is a food sampling extravaganza that pays tribute to the culinary excellence of local chefs and restaurants while raising money for the March of Dimes. Additionally, tens of thousands of dollars in live auction packages will be presented and a great cause will be celebrated, according to Vanetta Perry, senior development manager at March of Dimes Northeast Ohio Division.
Northeast Ohio organizations and individuals are eligible to receive this award, with nominations due by Oct. 1. Any individual or local organization, community group can submit a nomination, and self-nominations will be accepted as well. To request the nomination form, call Perry at 216 503 8421.
