Oh-Penn Videos Promote Manufacturing Jobs
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Oh-Penn Manufacturing Collaborative has released new videos as part of its Industry Needs You campaign to promote manufacturing in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
Viewable here, the videos are meant to educate local students, along with their parents and educators, about careers in local industry.
Industry Needs You is an outreach campaign on behalf of the Oh-Penn Manufacturing Collaborative, a partnership between the Industry Partners of Lawrence and Mercer Counties of Pennsylvania and the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition. The mission of this joint effort is to stimulate interest in manufacturing careers among young people of eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania across multiple disciplines, and connect them with the opportunities available to them.
The videos are aimed at dispelling outdated perceptions and attracting individuals into manufacturing career pathways within the five-county Oh-Penn Interstate Region. Additional resources along with the videos are available at the website.
“Manufacturing is a huge part of our economy and the industry needs an educated workforce to keep our region a good place to live,” said Kyle Kiraly, controller of Kiraly Tool & Die and a supporter of Oh-Penn Collaborative. “We want students and their parents and teachers to be aware that manufacturing is increasingly technology-focused and that there is a high-level of skill and knowledge needed for these great-paying careers.”
