Ohio Commerce Department Sitting on $3.6B of Unclaimed Funds
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — During her presentation at the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s ‘Lunch with Legislators’ event, Sherry Maxfield, director of the Ohio Department of Commerce noted there are $3.6 billion of unclaimed funds that does not belong to the state of Ohio, but it belongs to citizens, businesses and nonprofit organizations.
“Our job is to get that money back into the hands of the rightful owners,” Maxfield said. “As good as we are at trying to get money back to people, it’s coming in way faster.”
She urges people to check out the Ohio Department of Commerce website.
