Park Vista Celebrates Resident’s 105th Birthday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – On Monday, Ohio Living Park Vista celebrated the birthday of its oldest resident – Sarah Dzur who turned 105.

Ohio Living Park Vista had cake as a group of 30 family, friends and residents honored Dzur.

Dzur met her husband, Aurel, while working at Ohio Leather in Girard. They had two sons, Aurel and John. After her husband died away at a young age, Dzur went back to work at General Electric for 40 years before her retirement.

She and her longtime companion, Frank Laskowski, both resided at Ohio Living Park Vista until his death. She has one granddaughter, Heidi.

Dzur attributes her longevity to healthful eating. She grew up on a farm eating lots of fruits and vegetables and very little meat.

Her son, Aurel, said she would enjoy a little bit of brandy each day, and she loved to go dancing. She used to grow prize-winning roses that she showed at various fairs including the Trumbull County Fair.
