Ohio Reaches 100K New Businesses in Record Time

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The month of September ended with Ohio reaching a milestone as 9,989 new entities filed to do business in the state. That brought nine-month total to 101,352, marking the first time 100,000 new entities were created before the month of October.

“It’s a big milestone to reach, and to do so faster than it’s ever been done in Ohio says a lot about the hard-working men and women who are realizing their dream in the Buckeye State,” said Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose in a news release.

“That message should resonate with other hopeful entrepreneurs across the nation. If you want to start a business, e successful and create jobs, you won’t do better than Ohio.”

As of Sept. 30, 2018, new business filings totaled 96,499, the Ohio secretary of state’s office reported.

Given the current pace, Ohio is on track to end the year with another record number of new business creation.
