Ohio Veterans Services Agency Honors CMT
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — As part of Gov. Mike DeWine’s first regional Ohio Cabinet Day, Deborah Ashenhurst, director of the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, recognized the leadership of City Machine Technologies Inc. for its efforts in hiring and retaining veterans.
Making a stop at CMT plant on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Ashenhurst presented company leadership with OhioMeansJobs Challenge Coins.
She also honored current veteran employees with ODVS Challenge Coins during a ceremony and tour of the facility.
Also representing the Ohio Department of Veterans Services during the visit was Ryan Blackburn, veterans workforce manager, and Tiffany Chavers, regional workforce consultant.
City Machine Technologies was recently recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor as a Gold Medallion award winner by hirevets.gov, one of 19 companies across Ohio to receive the distinction.
Before visiting the plant, state officials attended DeWine’s cabinet meeting at the Mahoning County Career & Technical Center in Canfield.
The ODVS group concluded its day by visiting the Veterans Resource Center on the campus of Youngstown State University where officials listened to the needs of student veterans.
