Ohio’s Tax-Free Weekend Is Aug. 5-7
NILES, Ohio — Ohio’s annual Tax-Free Weekend takes place Aug. 5 through 7, and there is no sales tax on some of the items kids need for the coming school year.
The no-tax benefit applies to items of clothing priced at $75 or less, school supplies priced at $20 or less and instructional materials priced at $20 or less. This tax-free status applies to each individual item, with no limit on total quantities consumers purchase.
There are a few limits, however, on the tax-free designation. For example, sports and recreation gear remains taxable, as are any items purchased for business purposes.
