Ohio’s TechCred Funded 438 Employers in January

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Lt. Gov. Jon Husted announced Thursday that 438 employers were approved for funding through Ohio’s TechCred program in January.

The funding will provide the opportunity for Ohioans to earn 4,947 tech-focused credentials, according to a news release from the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation.

Some of the top industries awarded during this round include manufacturing, construction and education services.

“As Ohio’s economy continues to grow, we need to have the talent to fill the jobs coming here to our state,” said Husted, who serves as director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation. “TechCred helps Ohioans learn new skills so they can advance in their careers while also strengthening our workforce so that we can continue to be the best place to do business.”

TechCred helps businesses address their workforce needs by funding training opportunities to upskill current or prospective employees. Businesses of all sizes from any industry are eligible to receive up to $30,000 per application period and up to $180,000 per year in reimbursement when credentials are earned.

The current and 25th application period for Ohio employers opened March 1 and will close at 3 p.m. March 29. Employers can apply HERE.
