OhWow! to Celebrate 11 Years at Birthday Bash

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Oh Wow! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology will celebrate its 11th anniversary Saturday, May 14 with a birthday bash that will feature special activities through the day.

Since Oh Wow! Opened 11 years ago, the children’s center has “EDUtained” more than 540,863 young people with STEM-based, hands-on, interactive exhibits, and programs that are both educational and entertaining.

The birthday bash will begin with a pajama party in Function Junction from 9 to 11 a.m. Children are invited to wear their favorite pajamas and enjoy cartoons and a fort-building program. Lunch will follow as well as a family dance glow party from noon to 2 p.m.

Activities continue throughout the day in the InspireWorks Makerspace with take-home projects and science activity kits. A different activity will be highlighted every hour and free cake and snacks will be provided.

Three prizes valued up to $1,500 will be offered in a raffle. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the event or at OhWowKids.org.
