Opera Western Reserve Receives $3K for Outreach Programs
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Opera Western Reserve Young Artists program has received $3,000 from Denise DeBartolo York to support its educational outreach programs throughout the Mahoning Valley.
The programs include Fun with Opera, where students help Opera Western Reserve performers create a scenario for an improvised opera, and “pop-up operas,” where artists perform short arias at schools.
Currently, Opera Western Reserve Young Artists is performing “The Bremen Town Musicians.” As part of the performance, artists have created a portable set that can be taken into schools.
