Organizing at Ultium Reinvigorates UAW Local 1112
LORDSTOWN, Ohio – George Goranitis, president, and John Johnson, financial secretary, discuss the reinvigoration of UAW Local 1112 and the 16 months of negotiations it took to make it happen.
As its recently elected president, Goranitis represents just under 2,000 workers at the Ultium plant under new landmark local and national collective bargaining agreements.
“We just knew – because of Lordstown’s history – that we had to organize and get these jobs back here,” he said.
