Packer Thomas to Acquire Reali, Giampetro & Scott
CANFIELD, Ohio – Packer Thomas, a public accounting and business consulting firm with 50 employees, has acquired Reali, Giampetro & Scott, a smaller public accounting firm, the merger date set for July 1, John Cournan announced Monday.
Cournan is the managing principal at Packer Thomas.
Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
Reali, Giampetro and Scott will move its employees at 6715 Tippecanoe Road to Packer Thomas’ offices at 6601 Westford Place and its staff in Hermitage, Pa., to Packer Thomas’ office in New Castle, Pa.
Upon completion of the purchase, Packer Thomas will grow to 12 principals from 10, Cournan said.
“Reali Giampetro & Scott is an excellent firm with a seasoned team of professionals,” Cournan said in a prepared statement. “Given our mutually strong focus on providing high-quality client service and value, it made joining forces very natural.” The firms have similar corporate cultures, he said. “They’re smart, highly ethical practitioners and a technically expert firm,” he said in a telephone interview. “Culture is everything.”
Said Bill Reali, principal at Reali Giampetro, in a prepared statement, “The Packer Thomas culture is a great fit for our team and clients … and we are pleased [to entrust] our clients and employees.”
Reali Giampetro “has a strong not-for-profit practice,” Cournan noted.
Both serve for-profit and nonprofit entities in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
