Route 224 Parcels Sell for $1.47M to Make Way for Speedway

BOARDMAN, Ohio – A group of parcels at the corner of U.S. Route 224 and West Boulevard here sold this week for $1.47 million. Buildings at the properties will be razed to make way for construction of Speedway gas station and convince store.

Speedway LLC bought 708, 712, 716 and 720 Boardman Canfield Road and 7178 West Blvd. Aug. 26. Three buildings – the former Coaches Burger Bar, the three-space plaza next door and the former Antone’s – have been vacated.

The Coaches building and the plaza –  most recently home to Plaza Donuts, Kabob House and Daniel Paul Salons – were built in 1979, with the Antone’s building constructed in 1978.

The plaza behind those parcels, 7178 West Blvd., is home to Heritage Union Title, Salon Marzano and Vision Center. The building was constructed in 1983.

Combined, the properties are 111,464 square feet.

The properties at 712 and 708 Boardman Canfield Road were also part of the deal.

The site was already zoned commercial, so no changes are required to build the gas station.

The properties were previously owned by RRI LLC, which also owns the Dunkin Donuts site at 748 Boardman Canfield Road,  85 Karago Ave., 7412 Market Street and 2.58 acres along Western Reserve Road.
