Park Vista Reopens Its COVID-19 Care Unit
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The pandemic has been an omnipresent challenge for senior living centers, including Park Vista of Youngstown.
“We have had the same challenges as anyone in our industry, from staffing shortages to the impact of COVID taking a toll on our staff and residents,” says Brittany Cabuno, marketing director.
To retain staff, the senior living center started an employee-of-the-month program that rewards the winner with a gift, a gift card and a reserved parking spot.
Park Vista reopened its COVID unit to help senior citizens recover from a hospitalization. “We did this to alleviate the [influx of patients at] local hospitals and to open up their availability to help more patients,” Cabuno says.
Also in 2021, Park Vista made upgrades to its common areas and brought in entertainment for residents to enjoy.
