Partnerships, Awards Boost Growth at Cerni Motors
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — Strong consumer confidence plus a healthy economy in 2018 helped drive Cerni Motors Inc., Austintown and Painesville, to year-over-year improvements in volume truck sales, parts and service opportunities.
Last year was Cerni’s first full year as a member of Trivista Companies, a partnership formed in June 2017.
Trivista received International Truck’s Presidential Award in 2018, which is given to the top 7% of dealerships as measured by operating and financial standards, market representation and customer satisfaction.
“We are extremely proud of our staff and the work they did to make Cerni Motors and Trivista Companies one of the nation’s top 15 International dealers,” says John Cerni, president of Cerni Motors.
Cerni Motors and Trivista were ranked the No. 2 dealer organization in the United States and Canada among their peer group, he adds. And, Cerni locations in Youngstown and Painesville earned Diamond Edge certification by International Trucks for the 11th straight quarter for their rigorous parts and service guidelines.
Also last year, Cerni was awarded the Ohio Department of Transportation contract for single- and tandem- axle cabs through ODOT’s Division of Construction Management. This allows Cerni Motors and Painesville-based body company, Jones Equipment, to provide municipal agencies with one-stop shopping for ambulance, fire and dump-truck chassis.
International Trucks’ new lineup is drawing more attention at the dealership, Cerni continues. The CV was launched in November and should be available at the dealership by this spring. All International CV units are built in Springfield, Ohio, he notes.
International launched its new class 6/7 truck, the MV, in March.
