Patrons Bet $1.25B at Racino in FY 2019
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Patrons at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course wagered $1.25 billion on video lottery terminals during the fiscal year that ended June 30, the Ohio Lottery Commission reported Monday afternoon.
That total compares to the $1.14 billion wagered on VLTs at the Austintown racino during the 2018 fiscal year that ended a year ago.
During the most recent fiscal year, patrons took home $1.11 billion up from $1.01 billion the prior year.
In June, wagers dipped from the month before on the racino’s VLTs, but still posted the third-highest month since opening. Credits played in June totaled $112.01 million, down from $116.32 million in May, the second-best month since the racino opened in September 2014. So far, March 2019 holds the record for credits played there, $118.99 million.
Total VLT play statewide also declined month over month, to nearly $1.01 billion last month from $1.05 billion in May.
VLT play in Austintown last month was up from the $99.41 million reported in June 2018. Winnings at the racino in June totaled $99.36 million, down from $103.46 million in May but up from $87.89 million in June 2018.
