PDMI Brightens the Holidays with Charitable Partnership

POLAND, Ohio — Pharmacy Data Management Inc., or PDMI, partnered with Brighten Up for the Kids to bring hope and happiness to sick children this holiday season.

“It’s a long-standing tradition of ours to support a charitable organization during the holidays,” said Ashley Snowden, payroll and benefits specialist at PDMI and coordinator of this year’s drive. “We have a remarkably generous team that was excited to keep that spirit of goodwill and giving back alive.”

PDMI employees nominated charities of their choice for the drive. Organizations had to be 501(c)(3) nonprofits in need for non-monetary donations, such as clothes, toys, bedding or non-perishable food items, according to a release.

Using a randomizer tool during a virtual all-employee event, Brighten Up for the Kids was selected. The local nonprofit collects toys, gifts and funds to support children undergoing treatment at Akron Children’s Hospital of the Mahoning Valley and its special care unit for babies through the holiday season.

Employees selected, purchased and directly sent to Brighten Up for the Kids urgently needed items for children ranging in age from newborns to teens. Team members gave more than 330 individual items totaling over $2,000, an amount that was matched by PDMI. The matching contribution not only assisted the organization with their holiday drive but will go toward a summer drive that Brighten Up for the Kids conducts.

The nonprofit collected more than 4,000 toys, clothing items and other donations, making it one of its most successful years, according to the release.

“Our community has so many deserving organizations,” Snowden said in the release. “This partnership gave us the unique opportunity to support this important initiative in a way that made us feel more connected to each other as a team operating in a hybrid work environment.”
