Penn-Northwest to Host ‘Think About Energy’ Forum

HERMITAGE, Pa. — Penn-Northwest Development Corp. will hold a ”Think About Energy” forum from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Sept. 30, at the Avalon Golf & Country Club.

The forum is designed to spark discussion about energy development and use, said Tammy Calderwood, Penn-Northwest marketing director.

“We’re excited for local businesses to understand the production, transportation and utilization of resources and for them to engage stakeholders in conversations more about economic development opportunities in this area,” Calderwood said.

The discussion panel will include representatives from MarkWest Energy Partners, Seneca Resources, Noise Solutions and Penn State Extension. George Stark, director of external affairs for Cabot Oil & Gas Corp., will serve as moderator.

Calderwood said experts will discuss:

  • Natural gas production
  • Natural gas supply
  • Infrastructure and build-out
  • Natural gas liquids
  • Benefits to homes and businesses
  • Opportunities for local businesses
  • An overview of the Shell Ethane Cracker project
