Pizza Joe’s Heads to International Pizza Expo
NEW CASTLE, Pa. – The International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas draws pizzeria enthusiasts from across the globe, and Pizza Joe’s is joining the excitement this year.
Seven representatives from the New Castle-based franchise will head to Las Vegas next week for the largest pizza event in the industry. This year, Katie Seminara-DeToro will compete in the plant-based pizza competition at the expo.
“More and more we are serving customers with lactose sensitivity or dairy allergies, as well as customers who are looking for alternatives to traditional meat and cheese products,” Seminara-DeToro said. “We felt the Daiya Foods pizza competition at the expo would be a great opportunity to evaluate plant-based ingredients on our pizzas and gain feedback from a professional panel of judges and pizza loving peers.”
The International Pizza expo is March 18-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Seminara-DeToro will compete on Wednesday, March 20 against 29 other pizza makers.
Representing Pizza Joe’s at the expo are Seminara-DeToro from Pizza Joe’s corporate and the original location in New Castle, as well as Cody Llewellyn and Josiah Van Gent from New Wilmington Pizza Joe’s; Gene and Shelley Longo of Liberty Pizza Joe’s; Tony Washington of Girard Pizza Joe’s; and Bobby Washington of Mineral Ridge Pizza Joe’s.
