Poland Library to Close Ahead of Renovation Project

POLAND, Ohio – The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County is set to give the Poland Library a makeover.

The library will replace carpet, paint and update the look inside the building.

The PLYMC publicly submitted a request for bids in March on the work to replace the carpet, and the library will publicly open the bids it received at noon Friday at the Main Library. The work is expected to begin in June and take several weeks to complete.

The library will close for one week beginning May 1 to prepare for the construction project. It will reopen May 8 in a limited capacity in the lower-level meeting room. Patrons will be able to browse a limited collection, request materials from other branches, pick up materials on hold, return books, sign up for the summer reading program and register for a library card.
