YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The suspect in a robbery early Friday afternoon from the downtown branch of Huntington National Bank is in custody at the Mahoning County Justice Center, Youngstown police report.
Jailed in connection with the robbery is Randy Jamison, 39, of Youngstown, who was apprehended this morning.
At 1:33 p.m. Friday, the suspect presented a note to a teller at the branch demanding money and departed with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured in the robbery, Huntington spokesman Bill Eiler said.
After authorities distributed photos of the suspected robber taken from surveillance footage, several people called police to identify the suspect, Youngstown Police Capt. Brad Blackburn reported. He expected Jamison to be arraigned this week.
“We applaud the work of the local police. We always work with them as well as the FBI,” Eiler said.
