Premier Bank Donates $10K to Support Families in East Palestine

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Premier Bank recently donated $10,000 to The Way Station to help the nonprofit assist families that have been impacted by the Feb. 3 train derailment in East Palestine.

“The Way Station has responded to the crisis in East Palestine by providing food, clothing, water, hygiene products, diapers, cleaning supplies and gift cards to those in need,” said Chaney Nezbeth, executive director of The Way Station. “We do not anticipate their need to end anytime soon, but it will begin to change over time. Because of community support and outreach from our partners like Premier Bank, we will be able to continue to provide what they need, when they need it.”

Josh Toot, Mahoning Valley market president at Premier Bank, said they hope the funds will help make a “meaningful impact” for those affected by the derailment.

“As a community bank proudly located in East Palestine, our local leadership easily identified the need and quickly directed our support to The Way Station serving the residents within the community we call home,” Toot said. “We are working to do our part to help by mobilizing the resources of our foundation in the East Palestine community to support our customers, employees and the community during this time.”
