Press Club Speaker to Discuss AI’s Impact on Journalism
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Nikita Roy, a data scientist, journalist and media entrepreneur, will discuss the role of artificial intelligence in journalism during a Youngstown Press Club luncheon March 21.
The event, “How AI Is Changing the Media Landscape,” will take place at noon at the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County’s Main Library, 305 Wick Ave.
Tickets are $25 for Youngstown Press Club members and $35 for nonmembers. Preregistration is required HERE by March 13.
Roy is host of the globally acclaimed “Newsroom Robots” podcast. She is a Knight Fellow at the International Center for Journalists and has been a part of its News Innovation Lab and the Google News Initiative Startup Lab.
Her digital news startup, The NRI Nation, was incubated at Harvard Innovation Labs. It is a two-time semifinalist at the Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge and has received the Harvard Innovation Lab’s Spark Grant.
Roy, who is president of the Canadian Association of Journalists’ National Capital Region Chapter, was spotlighted as a notable Canadian youth founder and was selected for Canada’s League of Innovators Accelerator in 2022.
