BOARDMAN, Ohio – Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley will open up a new emergency room April 19 on its Beeghly campus.

Square footage will increase from 9,600 in the former ER to 34,700 in the new ER and will feature:

  • 23 treatment rooms;
  • 3 behavioral health treatment rooms;
  • 2 triage rooms.

“The current space where we treat kids accommodates about 80 patients a day in the rooms, and we’ve obviously seen way more than that on a daily basis,” said Paul Olivier, vice president of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.
