Primanti to Give Away Sandwiches at New Store
NILES, Ohio — Primanti Brothers restaurant is celebrating the opening Wednesday of its new store at the Eastwood Mall Complex by giving away free sandwiches for a year to the first 100 customers through the door. The new restaurant is the Pittsburgh-based chain’s third in Ohio and 34th overall.
The opening celebration tailgate begins at 5:00 a.m. Wednesday. Doors will open to the first 100 tailgaters around noon. After that, Primanti Bros. will close for a few hours and open to the public by late-afternoon.
Early tailgaters can expect samples of Primanti’s food, beverages, games and a parking lot DJ. In addition to being one of the first customers through the door, tailgaters also become lifetime members of the Niles 100 Club – an honor that means a year’s supply of free sandwiches at Primanti’s newest location.
Primanti Bros dates its origins to 1933 when Joe Primanti opened a lunch cart in Pittsburgh’s Strip District and sold sandwiches to the hungry truckers who were coming and going at all times of the night. Encouraged by sales and positive feedback, Joe expanded to a small storefront where he was joined by his brothers Dick and Stanley and their nephew John DePriter.
