Princeton Review: Grove City College Is ‘One of the Best’
GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College is one of America’s best, according to The Princeton Review’s just-released “The Best 384 Colleges” 2019 guidebook.
The influential guide selects the best from more than 2,500 four-year colleges and universities, placing Grove City in the nation’s top 15%.
The College is also identified as a “Best Northeastern” school and a “College That Pays You Back” in the educational testing and prep company’s annual rundown of top colleges and universities.
Outstanding academics, interesting professors, Christian community and high-quality campus life are among the factors that students value most at Grove City College, according to Princeton Review.
“We picked the 384 ‘best’ colleges for our book primarily for their outstanding academics; we highly recommend each one,” said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review’s editor-in-chief and the book’s lead author.
Princeton Review surveys college administrators, visits campuses, relies on staff reports and a 24-member National College Counselor Advisory Board to select colleges and universities for the guide, Franek said.
Princeton Review reports that faculty and students create “a vibrant and uplifting community” that challenges students to grow intellectually, spiritually and emotionally. Professors know their course material and are willing to personally invest in students and challenge them to ask hard questions,” according to the guide.
According to Princeton Review’s survey, at Grove City College:
- Students are happy, friendly, hardworking and highly motivated.
- Classroom facilities are great.
- Faculty are engaging, approachable and knowledgeable.
- Career services are great and internships are widely available.
- Students are religious and generally conservative.
- Intramural sports and theater are popular.
Grove City College rated high in five categories that The Princeton Review evaluates on a scale of 60 to 100:
- Academic rating – 87
- Accessible professors – 93
- Quality of life – 89
- Admissions rating − 86
- Financial aid rating – 79
