Public Library Offers Free COVID and Flu Vaccines

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — On select days between Oct. 5 and Nov. 2, the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will be offering free vaccinations for COVID-19 and the flu.

Vaccination periods will run from 11:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. at five library branches, including the main branch at 305 Wick Ave. on Oct. 5.

Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines are available, including the Pfizer booster. All vaccinations are administered by the City of Youngstown Health Department.

Appointments are not required for COVID-19 vaccinations and flu shots, but appointments for a COVID-19 booster are required and can be made at COVID19.youngstownohio.gov. The health district will be scheduling appointments for required second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. Masks or face coverings are required.

Additional vaccination dates include:
• Oct. 12 – East Library at 430 Early Road
• Oct. 19 – Newport Library at 3730 Market St.
• Oct. 26 – Michael Kusalaba Library at 2815 Mahoning Ave.
• Nov. 2 – Brownlee Woods Library at 4010 Sheridan Road

Anyone receiving a shot is asked to bring a photo ID and proof of insurance if applicable, however insurance isn’t required.

Those receiving their first COVID-19 shot will receive a $100 gift card provided by the Youngstown City Health District and Medicaid.
