Public Open House Set for Mill Creek Interceptor Sewer Project
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The city is inviting residents to attend a public open house Aug. 7 to learn about the Mill Creek Interceptor Sewer Project.
The public event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Michael Kusalaba Library, 2815 Mahoning Ave.
Community members will have the opportunity to learn about the project’s preliminary design phase, ongoing field work and what to expect during the design and construction processes. City representatives and the project team will be available to answer questions. Informational poster stations will highlight each field activity involved in the project.
No formal presentation will be given, allowing community members to attend at their convenience during the event hours.
The Mill Creek Interceptor Sewer Project aims to enhance the city’s sewer system in the area around Lake Glacier, Lake Newport and Mill Creek Park.
The project, scheduled for construction between 2025 and 2027, is in the preliminary design phase, which includes soil studies, topographic surveys, stream and wetland assessments, sewer inspections, wildlife studies and cultural resources surveys.
