QuickMed Establishes Scholarships for Choffin Students

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Three new $1,000 scholarships will now be available to aspiring health care professionals at Choffin Career & Technical Center.

QuickMed Urgent Care announced Tuesday that it has created the scholarships to be awarded to exceptional students pursuing careers in practical nursing or surgical technology who are enrolled in Adult Education programs at Choffin.

“QuickMed Urgent Care believes in fostering a future where health care is accessible and inclusive for all,” said Lena Esmail, QuickMed founder and CEO. “We are excited to invest in the next generation of health care professionals who share our values and dedication to making a positive impact.”

Scholarship recipients will be selected by a representative of QuickMed or a designee based on academic merit, financial need, essay content and commitment to serving diverse communities.

“QuickMed has continuously shown its support by building a community workforce in health care at Choffin Adult Education by providing clinical experiences for practical nursing students and having a representative serve on the practical nursing advisory board,” said Sherry Cross, Adult Education director at Choffin.

Applications are available on QuickMed’s website and at Choffin’s Financial Aid Office.

Applications must be returned to the Financial Aid Office along with current grades, proof of enrollment and documentation of financial need. A one-page essay must also be submitted on one of the following topics: the importance of health care access within rural and urban communities or the importance of health care professionals being of diverse backgrounds.
