Racino Reports 3rd-Highest Month for VLT Play
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Wagers on video lottery terminals at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course reached their third-highest level last month since the racino’s opening in September 2014.
VLT play in July totaled $102.19 million, topped only by the $109.74 million in March and $103.33 million in April. In June, VLT wagers totaled $99.41 million.
Statewide, VLT wagers in Ohio totaled $963.68 million in July, with winnings totaling $858.63 million.
Gamblers in July won $90.47 million in credits at the Austintown racino, which is operated by Penn National Gaming Inc., Wyomissing, Pa. That was up from $87.9 million in June.
On average, 1,032 VLTs were operating per day last month.
In July 2017, VLT credits played totaled $99.14 million and winnings totaled $87.94 million.
Penn National’s share of July’s $10.25 million net win – credits played minus credits won and promotional play credits – was $6.78 million. The Ohio Lottery Commission, which regulates VLT play in the state, received $3.43 million.
