Recycle Eclipse Glasses at Trumbull Locations
After today’s solar eclipse, residents will be able to recycle their eclipse glasses at locations across Trumbull County.
The collected glasses will undergo a quality assessment, and those in good condition will be sent to Astronomers Without Borders for reuse.
Damaged or unfit glasses will be responsibly recycled by a local specialty recycler capable of separating the solar film from the paper cardstock.
Current locations accepting eclipse glasses for recycling include:
- Residence Inn by Marriott, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles.
- Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton, 5581 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles.
- City of Cortland Celestial Celebration, West Main Street, Cortland.
- Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District main office, 5138 Enterprise Drive NW, Warren (collecting weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through April).
The recycling drive is sponsored by Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste District and Trumbull County Tourism.
