Chamber Extends Deadline for Leadership Mahoning Valley
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber is extending until June 30 the application deadline for the 2016-17 class of Leadership Mahoning Valley.
The program provides community leaders with a general overview of the Mahoning Valley, an opportunity for increased understanding of key community issues and the potential to develop effective working relationships with other civic leaders.
Participants complete a nine-month program, which includes monthly day-long sessions that focus on education, health, human service, heritage, government, justice, labor, business, poverty and diversity.
A selection committee composed of Leadership Mahoning Valley members will review all applications received by the deadline and choose up to 40 participants for the next class.
Selection criteria include recognized leadership ability in the applicant’s field and a demonstrated commitment to community service. Candidates may request applications directly or be nominated to apply by their employer, a program graduate or others.
The tuition fee of $2,000 covers all program costs, including meals, admission fees and program supplies. Applications may be requested by e-mail at [email protected] or by phone at 330 744 2131, x41.
